CONCERNED FRIENDS OF THE WINEMA
Concerned Friends of the Winema (CFOW) was formed in 1991 by
Ginny Jayne and Sally Wells as an organization to monitor conditions on the
Winema National Forest and to interact with the Forest Service to move forest
management toward more sustainable practices.
Others joined in and, over the years, a broader conservation approach
Over CFOW’s existence its members have participated in the
Hatfield Upper Basin Working Group, the Klamath Province Advisory Committee,
the Lakeview Stewardship Initiative, the Interior Columbia River Basin Project,
and a wide array of agency groups addressing specific projects.
Currently the group has a small membership which monitors
and responds to many different conservation issues and meets on an ad hoc
